Personal Coaching (Program 2)

Personal coaching allows you and Coach Braz to communicate regularly via phone and email to adjust your week-to-week program as needed.

What You Receive

  • a weekly outline with specific daily training
  • continual contact with Coach Braz for daily and weekly updates to your program based on race results and changing goals
  • workout and race strategy analysis
  • review and guidance for your cross-training and nutrition needs
  • monitoring of any past and current injuries and techniques for prevention
  • unlimited email and text access with Coach Braz
  • phone access as arranged with Coach Braz

How It Works

After you send your Profile Form indicating that you want Personal Coaching, Coach Braz contacts you to begin the exchange of additional information about your current training and goals. It is extremely important for you to provide all details about your running so that your personal program builds toward your goals.

The exchange between you and Coach Braz will continue as you provide feedback on your workouts, races, and any life events that have an impact on your training.

In order for Personal Coaching to be effective, you must tell Coach Braz how you are responding to the workouts. Based on your feedback, your workouts will be adjusted to take advantage of your progress, avoid injury, and peak for performance goals.

GTD Program Options

Going the Distance (GTD) offers two program options:
Seasonal Training, also known as Program 1
Personal Coaching, also known as Program 2

Seasonal Training (Program 1)

There are four Seasonal Training programs:

  • Winter: 19 weeks (December-April)
  • Winter: 15 weeks (January-April)
  • Spring: 15 weeks (April-July)
  • Fall: 15 weeks (August-November)

Getting Started

The 1st step is to fill out and send the GTD Profile Form.

  • Include your goal for the program. This may be a specific race, a series of races, a performance goal, or a maintenance goal.
    Please note: if you want to train for a marathon, you must use the Personal Coaching option.
  • Provide details on your current running - race results, weekly mileage, any injuries.

What You Receive

  • Via email, Coach Braz sends you an individualized training plan that covers each week of the seasonal program. This training plan is based on the information you provide in your Profile Form.
    Important - To receive the season's training plan, Coach Braz must have your Profile Form 2 weeks before the start of the season.
  • The training plan includes weekly primary sessions (track), secondary sessions, long runs, and weekly mileage.
  • Each week includes a road or track workout that Coach Braz sends a few days before the workout. You may execute this workout onsite under the guidance of Coach Braz or at a location convenient to you.
