Jay Newton broke his 5k PR by 13 seconds at the Camy 5k in Walpole on Nov 13. Jay ran 18:47 (6:04 pace) for 7th overall and 2nd in his age group. Curiously enough, this year Jay also set PRs in the half-marathon (1:29:47) and marathon (3:09:47) -- all by 13 seconds. Yes, it's true. Jay was on Fernando's 13 Second PR Plan. It works.
In her 1st half-marathon, Katrina Gravel won the Maine Coast Half Marathon in York on Nov 7. Over the rolling course, Katrina's time was 1:26:53 (6:38 pace).

Five master women who have been or still are coached by Fernando Braz -- Susannah Landreth, Cathy Pearce, Tina Dowling, Sim Piergentili, and Kara Haas. Their time over the rolling marathon course was 2:51:32 (6:33 pace). They were 8th overall, with 182 teams finishing.
At the Marine Corps Marathon on Oct 31, Steve Seide ran 3:14:49, Chris Marshall 3:29:54 (10 minute PR), and Lana Popova 3:52:17.
At the challenging Kingdom Challenge 1/2 Marathon in St Johnsbury (VT) on Oct 30, Jay Newton was 6th overall in 1:29:47.

John Goodwin won the Essex Art Center Halloween 5k in Lawrence on Oct 24 in 18:07.
The race organizers at the Mount Desert Island Marathon in Maine describe their course: "We would rate our marathon course as challenging. The terrain is hilly throughout the entire route. Though we don't want to scare any runners off, prepare for a tough run." On Oct 17, three GTDers were not scared off. Pat Fournier set a PR and was 2nd overall in 2:36:12. Nicole Parker ran a great 3:52:35 (an 18 minute PR), and Marianne Lucey enjoyed her 1st marathon in 4:29:19. These are three tough runners.

At the Baldi River Run 5M on May 30, Dan Hill ran a great 33:37.
At Boston's Run to Remember Half Marathon on May 30, Tom Fleming ran 1:39:20, Dan Frank 1:40:23, and George Woodward 1:46:28. In the 5 Miler, Linda Ford was 2nd master in 35:50.
At the Hyannis Half-Marathon on May 30, Steve Lecours was 7th overall (and 1st master) in 1:27:17. Kelly Lecours was 2nd master woman in 1:40:54. Colette Madore ran 1:46:31 and Jane Madore 2:46:30.
At the Sons of Italy 5K on May 29, Herb Cunha won his age group in 31:11, and Pat Barcellona and Leo St. Louis ran 34:44.

Dan Hill was 4th overall in 25:34 (6:55 pace) at the Andrew Gmelch Memorial Run/Walk in Bradford May 15. This was 3.7 mile PR for Dan.
At the Beach to Beach 5K in Marblehead on May 15, Jay Newton was 11th overall and 2nd in his age group in 19:59. Gina was 2nd woman and 1st in her age group in 20:58.

At the Cherry Blossom Ten Miler in DC on Apr 11, Nina Caron's 1:01:51 gave her 2nd senior, 59 seconds behind Joan Benoit (similar result as last November's Feaster Five, oh my). Linda Jennings was 3rd senior overall in 1:10:01, easily winning her age group.

Linda Jennings roared through the Bradford Valentine 5 Miler on Feb 13. Her stunning 34:34 (6:55) gave her 4th female and 1st senior. As astounding performance for a woman whose performance gets "younger" each year.

At the Houston Marathon on Jan 17, Dan Vassalo ran 2:25:05, and Tammie Robie ran a 2-minute PR of 2:49:32.
Tammie Robie ran 17:38 at the Freeze Your Buns 5K in Nashua on Jan 10. She was 1st woman and 2nd overall.
Amy Dalton was 1st Woman at the Fat Ass 50K on Jan 9. Amy turned in a determined and wonderful performance at this 31 mile race put on by GAC at Bradley Palmer State Park in Topsfield. In snow, ice, sun and mushy conditions, Amy won her first ultra race.
Linda Jennings turned a workout run into a 1:36:28 finish at the Disney Half-Marathon in Orlando on Jan 9. Linda was top senior in this huge field that endured unlikely cold weather and snow. Those -- like Linda -- going to Florida to enjoy a warm run were not overjoyed. They could have stayed home for this. Who knew?
At the 29th Annual Hangover Classic 10K in Salisbury on Jan 1, Curt (31:12) and Nick (32:01) Wheeler were 1st and 4th. Melissa Donais was 2nd woman in 37:18. Cyndi Springford ran 48:14, Colette Madore 48:29, Rob Prunier 48:59, Sharon Yu 51:09, Jim Vitale 51:58, and Chuck Batchelder 52:29.
In the 5K, Donna Phaneuf ran 28:17, and Marshall McCloskey dominated the 70+ division in 30:32.
